An object of mass 2 kg is taken to surface of moon. what will be its mass there and why?

Answer:

Mass remains the same everywhere. Incase, you are talking about weight. W=mg=2(10)=20N On moon, it will be 1/6 of weight i.e, 20/6=10/3=3.333333333....

The reason is that on moon the force of gravity is less due to its mass where as force of gravity of earth is more than moon as earth's mass is more than moon's mass
