An object of mass 20 kg is pulled up with a force of 150 N on an inclined plane for a distance of 3.0 m the plane makes an angle of 30 degree with the horizontal and the coefficient of kinetic friction between the object and the plane is 0.3 draw the free body diagram and diagram and calculate the work done by each force.

As we can see that the force due to gravity mgsinФ and the frictional force 0.3×mgcosФ will be acting in downward direction, which is opposite to the direction of motion .

Therefore net force acting  on the body = 150 -mgsinФ-0.3mgcosФ

                                                                     =150-100-51.96

                                                                        =1.0777N

Work done= net force× distance covered

                 =1.0777×3

                   =3.23J

Therefore the work done in moving the blockis 3.23 J
