Given

✭ Mass of an object is 20 g

✭ Height of the body is 2 m

To Find

◈ Energy processed?

Solution

So here the body would have Potential Energy

Potential Energy of a body is given by,

Potential Energy = mgh

Where,

  • m = Mass
  • g = Gravitational Acceleration
  • h = Height

Now let's first convet from gram to km

➳ 1000g = 1 Kg

➳ 20g = 20/1000

➳ Mass = 0.02 kg

So now as per the question,

  • Mass = 0.02 kg
  • Gravitational acceleration = 10 m/s²
  • Height = 2 m

Substituting the values,

»» Pe = mgh

»» Pe = 0.02 × 10 × 2

»» Pe = 0.2 × 2

»» Pe = 0.4 J

━━━━━━━

Let's Understand

⪼ When an object is in rest that is there is no Displacement then it is called as Potential Energy

⪼ When the body is in motion or in other words there is a Displacement then it is called as Kinetic energy

⪼ And the ability to work is called as energy

⪼ Here the body is not moving but still (rest) which means it has Potential Energy
