An object of mass 2kg is dropped from a height of 20m and rebound s to a height of 10m. What is its maximum kinetic energy during its upward in motion. ​

V² = U² +2gS ⇒⇒⇒ equation 2

V = final velocity = ?

U = initial velocity = 0

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8m/s²

S = displacement = 20 - 10 = 10m

substituting the  values into equation 2 we get V = 14m/s

but we recall that K.E = 1/2mv²

m = 2.0kg

v = 14.0m/s

substituting these values into equation 1 we get

K.E = 1/2 × 2.0 × 14.0² = 196.0J
