Given :-

Mass of body = m = 5 Kg

Initial Velocity of body = u = 4 ms-¹

Final Velocity of body = v = 8 ms-¹

Time = t = 8 s

Product of Mass and Velocity is known as Momentum. It is denoted by P.

∆P = m∆v

∆P = m(v-u)

∆P = 5(8-4)

∆P = 20 Kg ms-¹

As we know that Rate per change in Momentum is known as Force.

F = ∆P/t

F = 20/8

F = 5/2 N

F = 2.5 N

Hence,

Change in Momentum of body = P = 20 Kg ms-¹

Force = F = 2.5 N
