An object of mass 500g is immersed into a measuring jar containing water . The initial level of water in measuring jar is 50 cc . Due to immersion of object the water level in measuring jar reaches to 100 cc . Calculate the mass of water displaced due to immersion of object.

Mass of object given=500g

Initial volume of water=50cc

Final volume of water=100cc

So, volume of water displaced=(100-50)cc = 50cc

So, mass of water displaced=

Volume of water displaced×density of water

= (50cc× 1g/cc)= 50g
