Question have little error, we cant find the kinetic energy added to the system but we need to find the kinetic energy of the masses after the explosion.

Mass of the object = 5 kg.

Mass of the pieces = 2.5 kg.

Since, Momentum remains conserved.

∴ mv = m1v1 = m2v2

⇒ 5 × 10 = 0 + 2.5 × v

⇒ v = 500/2.5

⇒ v = 200 m/s.

Therefore, velocity of the body is 200 m/s.

∴ K.E. = 1/2 × 2.5 × 40000

 = 50,000 J.

K.E. of other body = 0

Hope it helps.
