An object of mass 6 kg is at a certain height above the ground. If the
potential energy of the object is 240 J, find the height at which the
object is with respect to the ground. Given, g = 10 m s-2​ . ​

Mass(m) = 6kg

Potentia energy(P.E) = 240J

Acceleration due to gravity(g) = 10 m/s

To find:

Height(h) = ?

Solution:

P.E = mgh

Substituting we get

240 = 6 × 10 ×h

240 = 60 × h

h = \frac{240}{60}

h = \frac{24}{6}

h = 4
