Given:

Initial speed of the object = v0 m/s

Mass of the object = m kg

To find:

Speed of the object at height h.

Solution:

Using the formula: v²= u² + 2aS

Where v = final velocity,

u =initial velocity,

S is the distance covered,

a is the acceleration.

Here in this case acceleration is in the opposite direction and magnitude = acceleration due to gravity (g)

Putting the values we get:

v² = v0² + 2*(-g)*h

v² = v0² - 2gh

v =√(v0²- 2gh)

The speed at height h = √(v0² -2gh) m/s.
