To Find:-

  • Find the magnitude of the force exerted on the object.

Given:-

  • An object of mass 100 kg is accelerated from a velocity of 5m/s to 8m/s in 6 sec.

Solution:-

  • Initial velocity of the object = 5m/s
  • Final velocity of the object = 8m/s
  • Time taken = 6 sec

Initial momentum:-

100 × 5 = 500

Final velocity:-

100 × 8 = 800

Now,

Calculate the magnitude of the force exerted on the object:-

F = (mv - mu)/t

F = ( 800 - 500 )/6

F = 300/6

F = 50N
