Focal length = 1/2 of radius of curvature

ie. f = +15 cm

Image distance, v =?

We have,

( 1/v - 1/u = 1/f )

:. 1/v - 1/-40 = 1/15

:. 1/v = 1/15 + 1/-40

:. 1/v = (- 40 + 15) / -600

:. 1/v = - 25/-600 = 1/24

:. V = + 24 cm.
