Hey there

The answer is simple,

An object expands on heating and contracts on cooling.

For example, if we heat ice it expands that is, it starts melting to form water and vice versa when it's cooled.

Hope dis helps you

Hi friend,

An object EXPANDS on heating and contracts on cooling.

As when you provide heat to an object it's kinetic energy increases and the molecules of the object moves far from each other and take up the space and expands and when u provide coolness the kinetic energy decreases and the molecules comes closer and they take up less space and the contracts.

Example- When u provide heat to ice it melts due to the increasing in kinetic energy and when u provide coolness it is then in solid form due to decrease in kinetic energy and when u provide heat to water it becomes gas and when u provide coolness it becomes water.

Hope it helps.....
