Diverging mirror is a convex mirror.

Therefore,

Focal length (f) = +18cm.

Object Distance (u) = -12cm.

By Mirror Formula,

•1/f =1/v + 1/u

•1/v =1/f - 1/u

•1/v = 1/18 - (1/-12)

•1/v = 1/18 + 1/12

•1/v = 2+3/36

•1/v = 5/36

• v = 36/5 = 7.2cm

Magnification(M) = -v/u

= -7.2/-12

= 7.2/12

= 0.6

Position Of Image: Between Pole and Principal Focus.

Nature Of Image: Virtual, Erect and Diminished.
