An object placed at a distance of 20 cm from a convex mirror of focal length 15 cm . find the position and nature of the image.

object distance ‘u’ is 20 cm and focal length ‘f’ is 25 cm. while substituting these values in the relation 1/u+1/v=1/f we will get the image distance ‘v’ as -100 cm which means that the image is 100 cm away from the vertex ‘V’ and the nature of the image is Virtual.

\bf\huge\frac{1}{v} = \frac{1}{15} - \frac{1}{-20}


\bf\huge\frac{1}{v} = \frac{1}{15} - \frac{1}{20}


\bf\huge\frac{1}{v} = \frac{7}{60}


\bf\huge\texttt v = 8.57 cm
