Distance = 22 m

Displacement = 14 m

Explanation:

Given:

  • An object started moving from point A and reached point B.
  • Diameter of circular path is 7 m.

To Find:

  • What is distance covered and displacement of object ?

Formula to be used:

  • Half circumference of circle = 2πr/2

Solution: Distance covered by object is

  • ACB = Half circumference

➟ Distance = 2πr/2

➟ D = πr

➟ D = 22/7(7)

➟ D = 22 m

And displacement of object will be = AB

➟ AB = Diameter = 2r

➟ AB = 2(7)

➟ AB = 14 m

Hence, displacement of object will be 14 m and distance covered by it is 22 m.

✤ ANSWER ✤

GIVEN :

Radius = 7 m

TO FIND :

Distance and Displacement after half revolution ( from A to B )

SOLUTION :

{\red\bigstar\large\bold{\mathrm{\underline{\green{DISTANCE:}}}}}

Distance would be circumference of circle . Since it covers only half revolution therefore , half the circumference will be taken .

FORMULA USED = \sf \dfrac{2πr}{2} = πr

Distance = πr = \sf \dfrac{22}{7} \times 7

Distance = 22 m

\large\bold{\mathtt{\underline{\underline{\orange{Distance\:=\:22\:m}}}}}

{\red\bigstar\large\bold{\mathrm{\underline{\green{DISPLACEMENT:}}}}}

Displacement is the smallest distance covered or taken . Here displacement is from A to B therefore Displacement = Diameter .

FORMULA USED = \sf 2r

Displacement = 2r = 2(7)

Displacement = 14 m

\large\bold{\mathtt{\underline{\underline{\orange{Displacement\:=\:14\:m}}}}}
