- Acceleration (a) = 2 m s⁻²
- Time (t) = 4 s
- Distance (S) = ?
Using the second equation of motion, S = ut + ½ at²
- S = ut + ½ at²
- S = 0 × 4 + ½ × 2 × (4)²
- S = 0 + ½ × 2 × 4 × 4
- S = 0 + 4 × 4
- S = 0 + 16
- S = 16 m
Therefore :
- The object will cover 16m at a rate of 2 m s⁻² in 4sec.
