An object starts from rest with a constant acceleration of 18.8 m/s² along a straight line.

we have to find the distance travelled foe the interval of 9 sec is...

solution : read the bold part of above sentence, a/c to question,“ an object starts from rest”

it means initial velocity of the object is zero.

i.e., u = 0

constant acceleration, a = 18.8 m/s²

time interval, t = 9s

using formula, s = ut + 1/2 at² , to find the distance travelled by the object.

∴ s = 0 × 9s + 1/2 × 18.8 m/s² × (9s)²

= 9.4 m/s² × 81 s²

= 761.4 m

Therefore the distance travelled by the object for the interval of 9 sec, is 761.4 m
