Since the initial and final points of the path of an object thrown at an angle to the ground lie on the same horizontal line, the displacement of the object is only in the horizontal direction. Since there is no net displacement of the object in the vertical direction in which the force of gravity acts, therefore no work is done by the force of gravity on the object.

Since, the initial and final point of the path of the object lie on the same horizontal line, perpendicular to the direction of the force of gravity.
θ = 90º, W = F s cos 90º = 0.
Thus, no work is done.
