s = 500m

v = 0m/s

g = 10m/s²

using the equation,

v²=u²+2as

0 = u²+2×(-10)×500

0 = u²-10000

10000= u²

so,

u = 100m/s

Initial velocity of object = 100m/s

Now,

v = u+at

0 = 100+(-10t)

-100=-10t

t = 10seconds

Time taken by the object to come back to earth = 10seconds

Cheers!
