Average speed=total distance/total time
=20+10/10+5
=30/15
=2m/s

Therefore the average speed the object is 2m/s

There’s your answer mate

Hope it helped!!!

Given :

  • Distance travelled by the object in 10s is 20 m
  • Distance traveleld by the object in 5s is 10m

To find :

  • The average speed of the object

Solution :

The ratio bewteen the total distance travelled to the total time taken is known as average speed.

 \boxed{ \rm{average \: speed =  \frac{total \: distance}{total \: time} }}

By substituting the values we have ,

 :  \implies \rm \: average \: speed =  \frac{20 \: m + 10 \: m}{10 \: s + 5 \: s}  \\   \\   : \implies \rm \: average \: speed =  \frac{30 \: m}{15 \: s}  \\  \\   : \implies \rm \: average \: speed = 2 \: m {s}^{ - 1}

Hence , The average speed of the object is 2 m/s.
