Average speed of object :

{\sf{\purple{=  \frac{35 + 50}{4 + 6} }}}

{\sf{\purple{= {\cancel \frac{85}{10 } }}}}

= 8.5m/s

So,

The average speed of object is 8.5m/s.

Answer :-

Average speed of the object is 8.5 m/s [Option.4] .

Explanation :-

We have :-

→ 1st time = 4 sec

→ Distance covered in 1st time = 35 m

→ 2nd time = 6 sec

→ Distance covered in 2nd time = 50 m

To find :-

→ Average speed .

______________________________

For calculation of average speed, firstly we have to calculate the total distance covered and total time taken by the object during the whole journey .

Total distance covered :-

= 1st distance + 2nd distance

= (35 + 50) m

= 85 metres

Total time taken :-

= 1st time + 2nd time

= (4 + 10) sec

= 10 seconds

Now, we can calculate the average speed by putting values in the formula .

Average speed :-

= Total distance/Total time

= 85/10

= 8.5 m/s
