Total distance = 16 +16 m
= 32m
Total time taken=4+3 s
= 7 s
S av. = total distance/total time
= 32/7 m/s
= 4.57 m/s

☆Actually welcome to the concept of the Kinematics and motion of the body....

☆Basically we know that ....

☆SPEED = DISTANCE / TIME .....

☆but actually when the speed of the body varies ....we have to consider its Average speed ....

☆thus we know that the average speed of any body is given as ....

☆AVERAGE SPEED = TOTAL DISTANCE / TOTAL TIME TAKEN ....

☆average speeding the total distance travelled by the body per unit total time taken .....

☆thus here .....Average speed = 16 + 16 / 4 + 3
========> 32 / 7 m/s
=========> 4.57 m/s ....

☆thus the average speed is 4.57 m/s ....
