Average speed= Total distance / Total time taken

Given - 20 m and 20 m = 20 + 20  = 40 m -------- TOTAL DISTANCE

             4 s and  10 s = 4 + 10 = 14 s ---------- TOTAL TIME

Acc to the Formula -- Average speed = 40 / 14

                                                               = 2.85 m/s.

first  we will find the speed of both the objects,                                                       20m/4sec= 5 m/sec                                                                                                     20m/10sec= 2m/sec                                                                                                                                                                                                      average speed =     total distance travelled divided by total time taken                       so   20+20=40                                                                                                                                &      4+10=14                                                                                                                        then we will divided them  =    40 divided by 14=   2.89 m/sec
