Answer:

9 m/sec

Explanation:

first ,

distance = 20m

time = 2 sec

speed = distance/time = 20/2 = 10m/sec

second ,

distance = 16m

time = 2 sec

speed = distance/time = 16/2 = 8m/sec

average speed = total speed /no of times =  10 +8/2 = 18/2 = 9 m/sec

hope it helps you very well

Given :

  • an object travels 20m in 2 sec and then another 16 m in 2 sec

To Find :

  • what is the average speed of the object

Solution :

Total distance travelled

==> 20 + 16

==> 36

total time taken

==> 2 + 2

==> 4

Average speed = Total distance travelled/total time taken

==> 36/4

==> 9 m/sec

Extra information :

  • Speed = d/t

  • F = m. a

  • a (bar) = v - v_0/t = Δv/Δt

  • w = F x d

  • P = W/Δt

  • V = 1R

  • PE = mgh

  • p = mv
