Answer:

Average speed = (speed in 1st interval + speed in 2nd interval) ÷ 2

We know that ,

Speed = distance/time.

Speed of object in 1st interval = 20/4 = 5 m/s

Speed of object in 2nd interval = 20/10 = 2 m/s

Average speed = (5+2)/2 = 3.5 m/s

Answer:

The average speed of the object is 6m/s.

Explanation:

Average speed= (Total Distance)/(Total time)

                          = (20 m + 40 m)/(5 sec + 5 sec)

                          =60 m/10 sec

                          =6m/s
