An object travels 40 kms in 5 secs and hen another 80 m in 5 secs. what is the average speed of the object

2nd case:-

Distance travelled = 80 m (s2)

Time taken = 5 seconds (t2)

To find:-

Avg. speed of the particle.

We know that,

V(av) = (s1 + s2) / (t1 + t2)

i.e. = Total distance travelled / Total time taken.

∴ V(av) = (4000 m + 80 m) / (5 s + 5 s)

[1 km = 1000 m]

➽ V(av) = 4080m / 10s

V(av) = 408 m/s

Average speed of the particle is 408 m s^-1.

Note:-

Multiply the speed with 18/5 to get the speed in km/h.
