An object travels from a point X to another point Y in 10 s. The distance between them is 30 m. It travels again from Y to Z and covers 40 m. The average speed of the object during the whole journey is 2 m/s. How long the object takes to travel from Y to Z?

let total time=10+x

total distance

==>30+40

==) 70 m

average speed= \frac{total-distance}{total-time}

2=\frac{70}{10+x}

20+2x=70

2x=70-20

2x=50

x=25 sec

hence time taken to reach y to z is 25 second
