An object weighs 10N when measured on the surface of the moon. What would be its weight when measured on the surface of the earth?

Explanation

Acceleration due to gravity is (1/6)th times to that on earth.

So,

Weight in moon = Weight on earth/6

= 10/6 = 1.67 N

Weight of object on the MOON = ( 1/6) * its weight on the EARTH.

That is ,

Weight on MOON = Weight on EARTH / 6

= 10 / 6 N

= 1.67 N
