Answer:

The force acting on the object = 1.5625 N

• Force = mass * acceleration

            = mass * (change in velocity per second)

• Given ,

Initial velocity = 90 Km/h = 25 m/s

Final velocity = 72 Km/h = 20 m/s

Time = 320 s

• Acceleration = (20 – 25) / 320

                      =  -0.015625 m/s2

Force = 100 * ( -0.015625 m/s2 )

          = - 1.5625 N

• It is a retarding force of 1.5625 N

Answer:

Explanation:

MASS , M = 100 KG

INITIAL VELOCITY , U = 90 KM / H     [ TO CONVERT KM/H TO M/S

                                     = 90*5/18                   MULTIPLY BY 5/18]

                                     = 25 M/S          [ TO CONVERT M/S TO KM/H

FINAL VELOCITY , V = 72 KM/ H                   MULTIPLY BY 18/5]

                                   = 72*5/18

                                   = 20 M/S

TIME TAKEN = 20 SEC

FORCE = MASS * ACCELERATION                   ACCELERATION = (V-U)/T

FORCE = MASS * (V-U)/T

FORCE = 100*( 20-25)/20

FORCE = - 25 N.

THEREFORE RETARDING FORCE ACTING ON THE BODY IS

25 N

HOPE THIS HELPS.
