An objet of mass 10 kg is dropped from a height of 100 cm. Find its kinetic energy and velocity before it reaches the ground . Take g =10m/s²

m = 10 kg
h = 100 cm = 1 m
v= 0 m/s

v² - u² =2gh

0² - u² = 2 ×10 × 1

-u² = 20

u = - 2√5 m/s

K.E. = 1/2 m u²
= 1/2×10×20
= 10 J
