An oil tank has to be drained for maintenance.the tank is shaped like a cylinder That is 3.5 ft long with a diameter of 1.8ft suppose oil is drained at a rate of 2.3ft per minute. If the tank starts completely full how many minutes will it take to empty the tank

\sf {Volume\ for\ a\ cylinder\ = \pi \times r^2 \times h}\\\\\\\sf {Radius = 0.9\ ft\ (Half\ of\ Diameter)}\\\\\sf {Height = 3.5\ ft  }

 

\sf {3.14 \times 0.9^{2} \times 3.5}\\\\\sf {=8.9019\ ft^3}

Dividing volume by the drainage rate,

\sf {8.9019\div 2.3=3.87}\\\\\sf {Or\ 4\ minutes}
