An ok sign by placing the thumb and fore finger in an "O" Shape is  highly offensive gesture in Brazil.

*The okay symbol is the equivalent of giving someone the finger in the U.S.

Note -  In Afghanistan, Iran and parts of Italy, the gesture is regarded as an obscene insult equivalent to what the middle finger signifies in most of Europe, especially when combined with a sweep of the arms.

Answer:

In the English-speaking world and many other countries, the hand gesture signifies that everything is great, okay or perfect. In Brazil this gesture is considered to be rule. One of the most glaring examples of this was when Richard Nixon visited Brazil and showed "Ok sign " to the crowd after arriving at Rio de Janeiro, the people responded with boos. Likewise various hand gestures are interpreted differently in different countries.
