an old person is unable to see clearly the nearby object as well as distant object what defect of vision is suffering from what kind of lens will be required to see clearly the nearby as well as the distant object

he is suffering from presbyopia.
spectacles with both lens i.e. concave and convex(bifocal lenses) are used.

in such lenses upper part is concave lens which corrects nearsightedness and
lower part is a convex lens which corrects farsightedness.

He's suffering from presbyopia. .....in presbyopia the power of accommodation usually decreases with ageing. For most people, the near point gradually recedes away .They find difficult to see nearby objects comfortably and distinctly without corrective eye glasses. it arises due to the gradual weakening of ciliary muscles.........such people use bi focal lenses. ...A common type of bifocal lens consist of both concave and concave lensupper portion consist of a concave lens....it facilitates distant vision ......The lower part is convex lens
