Surface Area =2(l*b+b*h+h*l)
Surface Area =2(1.5*1+1*1+1*1.5)
Surface Area =2(1.5+1+1.5)
Surface Area =2*4=8m2 answer
cost of paint the box =8*150=1200rupees

Answer: Total cost  is Rs. 1950.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Length of open box = 1.5 m

Breadth of open box = 1 m

Height of open box = 1 m

We need sheet of metal that will be required to make this box:

As we know the formula for "Surface area of cuboid":

Area=2(bh+lh)+lb\\\\Area=2(1\times 1+1.5\times 1)+1.5\times 1\\\\Area=2(1+1.5)+1.5\\\\Area=2\times 2.5+1.5\\\\Area=5+1.5\\\\Area=6.5\ m^2

Now, According to question, the inside and outside surface of the box is to be painted with rust proof at a rate of Rs. 150 per sq. m

So, Outer and inner surface area of the box is given by

2\times 6.5 \\\\=13\ m^2

Total cost to paint the box is given by

13\times 150\\\\=Rs. 1950

Hence, total cost  is Rs. 1950.
