an open car is moving on a road with a speed of 100 km/hr . a man sitting in the car fires a bullet from the gun in the opposite direction. i the speed of the bullet is 250 km/hr relative to the car , then find the bullets speed w.r.t an observer on the ground?

vb = 150 km/hr

◆ Explaination-
# Given-
vc = 100 km/hr
vb = ?
vbc = 250 km/hr

# Solution-
Let vc be spped of car and vb be that for bullet.

As bullet travels in opposite direction of car, relative velocity is given by-
vbc = vb + vc

Substituting values-
250 = vb + 100
vb = 250 - 100
vb = 150 km/hr

Therefore, observer on ground will notice speed of bullet as 150 km/hr.
