Given:-

  • A open cylindrical tank of radius 14cm.and height 30cm is to be painted on its exterior surfaces .And also given the cost of painting the surface area 1m^2 is £7.50.

To find :-

  • Total surface area that needs to be painted.
  • Cost to paint the tank.

Explanation :-

  • Here we should convert the units
  • Therefore,

  • Radius in m=
  • \frac{14}{100} =0.14m
  • Height in m,
  • 30 = \frac{30}{100} = 03m

  • Now finding total surface area of painted

So,

  • we know that,

  • TSA \: {cylinder} = 2\pi \: r \: (r + h)
  • Now applying the values ,

  • Total surface area of cylinder = 2 \times \frac{22}{7 } \times 0.14(0.14 \times 0.3)
  • Total surface area of cylinder = 2 \times 22 \times 0.02 \times 0.44
  • Total surface area of cylinder = 3872 {cm}^{2}

Hope it helps u mate .

Thank you .
