Step-by-step explanation:

Change 4000 liters to m³:

4000 liters = 4000/1000 m³     [∵ 1000 liters = 1 m³]

                  = 4 m³

Find the Initial volume of water in the tank:

Given that, tank is initially three-quarters filled i.e. (3/4)of the given height

∴ Initial volume of the water = (4 × 2 × 3.6) m³

                                               = 28.8 m³

Total volume of the water after 4 m³ water is added = (28.8 + 4) m³

                                                                                       = 32.8 m³

Find the depth (d):

Total volume of the water = length × width × depth(d)

=> 32.8 = 4 × 2 × d

=> d = 4.1 m

∴ Depth of the water is 4.1 m in the tank after 4000 liters of water are added to it.

Verification:

4 × 2 × 4.1 = 32.8
