An open tank is 3 m long, 2 m wide and 1 m 50 cm deep. Find the amount of paint required to paint its inside and outside, if 1 kg of paint covers 20 square metres. (Neglect the thickness of the material)

Dear friend,

Here is the answer for your question:

First find the AREA of all the sides and then you have to add all tthe area and divide it with 20:

3m x 1.5 = ( x4)

= 18m

2 x 1.5m = (x4)

= 12m

3 x 2 = 6m

Now we have to add these areas so we can divide the total area with 20.

(18+12+6) divided by 20.

= 36 divided by 20

=1.8 kgs of paint is needed
