An open tank is made of iron sheet of 4 m wide. If the
dimensions of the tank are 15 m x 12 m x 3 m, find the
cost of iron sheet at 22.50 per m.​

Answer:

Length of the tank = 15 m.

Breadth of the tank = 12 m.

Height of the tank = 3 m.

Width of the sheet = 4 m.

so...... Total surface area of open tank = Lateral surface area + area of base .

= 2( l + b )h + l × b .

= 2( 15 + 12 ) × 3 + 15 × 12 .

= 162 + 180 .

= 342 m²

And, it is given : Width of sheet = 4 m.

→ Area = Length × Width .

length = 343/4= 85.5m

cost of sheet of length 85.5m at the rate of 22.50 per m²

22.50 x 85.5 = 1923.75
