ANSWER:
Cost of iron sheet required to make open tank is ₹4600.

EXPLANATION:
L=12m ; W=9m ; D=4m
w=1.5m ; r=25 ₹/m ; Length of sheet required=s

Total sheet required to make open tank
A=LSA of cuboid+Area of Bottom of tank
A = [2D(L+W)] + [L×W]
= [2×4(12+9)] + [12×9]
= (8×21) + 108
= 168 + 108
= 276m²

We know that Area=Length * width
Area of sheet = s * w
276 = s × 1.5
∴ s = 276 / 1.5 = 184m
Length of sheet required = 184m

Cost of sheet = Length of sheet × rate
= s × r = 184 × 25 = ₹4600

Answer:

cost of the sheet = rupees 4600

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

length =12m

breathe =9m

deep = 4m

the wide of sheet =1.5

the rate of rupees 25 per m

let , the length of sheet required be x

total sheet required to make open tank

Area= LSA of cuboid + area of bottom of tank

Area= [2D( L+W)]+[L+W]

=[2×4(12+9)]+[12+9]

=(8×21)+108

=168+108

=276

We know that Area=length ×width

Area of sheet =x×w

276=x×1.5

x=276/1.5

x=184m

therefor, length of sheet required 184m

cost of sheet =length of sheet × rate

=x×r

=184×25

=rupees 4600
