An optical fiber digital transmission link has a LED source with a rise time of
15ns. The spectral width of LED is 40 nm causing a material dispersion of related
rise time degradation of 21ns over a 6km link. Assuming the receiver has a 25
MHz bandwidth and the rise time from the receiver is 14ns, and the fiber medium
has a 400MHz-km Bandwidth distance product with q=0.7, calculate the system
rise time.
