As " A " is propanone ,  when it will be reduced, propan - 2 -al ( B )will be synthesized.

On reaction of B with hydrogen bromide , 2 - bromopropane ( C ) will be synthesized.

On reaction of C with Mg , isopropyl magnesium bromide ( D ) will be formed & on hydrolysis, it will synthesize dimethyl butanol.

sagarchhetry33: I think last E must be 2,3 dimethyl butan -2-ol

Answer: A is propanone which on reduction gives prapan-2-ol (B).

B on reaction with HBr gives 2-Bromopropane (C)

C with Mg forms Isopropyl magnesiumbromide (D), with further on hhydolysis with A gives 2,2-dimethyl-2-butanol (E).
