As "A" is acidic in nature so it is a hydrocarbon of Carboxylic acid functional group .

And it is heated with Concentrated Sulphuric Acid and ethyl alcohol so that vapours with a fruity smell are given out . So as a fruity smell comes out . So , This smell comes from an ether formed from the given reaction . And ethyl alcohol produces an ether if it is heated with Acetic acid in the presence of any acid . Note that the ether produced in this reaction is Ethyl Ethanoate.
