An organic compound 'A' is an essentail constituent of wine and beer.Oxidation of compound of 'A' needs an organic 'B' which is present in vineger.Name the compound 'A' and 'B' and write there sturctural formulae.What heppens when 'A' 'B' react in the presence of an acid catalyst.Write the chemical reaction involved.

ethanol on heating with alkaline potassium permanganate forms ethaoic acid and water  

therefore A is ethanol and B is ethaooc acid and reacting A and B with acid gives esterification
