an organic compound P is the constituent of wine. P on reacting with acidified K2Cr2O7 forms another compound Q. when a piece of sodium is added to Q, a gas is evolved which burns with popping sound. identify P,Q,R and write the chemical equation for the same

Here,

P +K2Cr2O7------------>Q (will be product)

Q+Na------------------>R ( will be product)

Then P, will be C2HsOH


C2HsoH----------------------------->CH3COOH

CH3COOH+Na------------>CH3COONa+H2

Therefore

Q=CH30COOH
R=H2

CH3CH2OH + K2Cr2O7 =  CH3COOH

2CH3COOH + 2Na = 2CH3COONa + H2

P = Ehanol ; Q = Ehanoic acid ; R = hydrogen
