An organic compound 'X' having molecular formula C₅H₁₀O yields phenyl hydrazone and gives negative response to the Iodoform test and Tollen's test. It produces n-pentane on reduction. 'X' could be :-
(a) 2-pentanone
(b) 3-pentanone
(c) n-amyl alcohol
(d) pentanal

If it gives phenyl hyrazone so it will be a carbonyl compound and it does not give tollen test so it means it is not aldehyde and which means it is ketone, it also does not give iodoform test which suggest that it doesn't it is neither methyl ketone so 3 petanone does not have methyl group.

Hence option (B) is correct.
