An ornament is made of gold and copper and weighs 52 grams . If 2/13 of its part is copper , find the weight of pure gold in it .

given, weight of the ornament is 52gms.
parts of copper in it is= 2/13
so, parts of gld in it is=11/13
weight of gold in the ornament=total weight x parts of gold
                                                =52 x 11/13
                                                =44 gms.
