The ornaments, when exposed in air, can easily react with metal.
The ornament has a thin layer of metal over it.
This layer is mainly of the noble metal that is coated up over the ordinary base metal that makes it easy for the loss of glitters.
Hence, the ornaments are seen as less glittery after some time.
