Owls are mostly nocturnal, so they need to have good night-vision to survive. Humans are diurnal, meaning we operate during the day, so we don’t need good night-vision. We instead have colour vision which helps us pick out predators and prey from their surroundings, and distinguish individual shapes from each other by shades and hues.
