An oxide of an element ‘A’ when treated with an acid formed a solution which was neutral to litmus. Is ‘A’ a metal or a non-metal? What is the nature of the oxide?

A is metal as oxide of metal are basic in nature while non- metals are acidic when we react oxide of metal A with acid neutralisation reaction will occur ..hence A is basic oxideand A is metal
